Pokemon Party Theme
Ages: 5 to 12
Invitations:
Make a simple invitation by folding cardstock in half. Then trace
a circle onto the paper so that part of the circle goes off the
edge where the fold is (so that it will open like a card). Color
it so that it looks like a Pokemon ball. Write the party
information inside.
Decoration Ideas
Get streamers and balloons in primary colors. You should be able
to find plenty of Pokeman themed items to decorate with. If your
child has pokemon cards use clothes pins and string to hang some
from the ceiling.
Craft Ideas
Provide the kids with craft items like googly eyes,
popsicle sticks, paper towel tubes, pom-poms, pipe cleaners,
markers, crayons, glitter and glue. Let them create their own
pokemon or make one that looks like their favorite. If this is a
bit too messy for you, provide the kids with play-dough and let
them make a pokemon out of it.
Game Ideas
Make a bunch of small versions of the invites and write numbers on
the inside that correlate with a small prize. Hide them throughout
the party area and have the kids look for them.
Come up with a game that fits your child’s favorite pokemon. For
example, Shroomish loves apples. You could have a bobbing for
apples game. Meowth loves coins so you could hide some and have
the guests look for them.
At the end of the party let the kids watch a Pokemon show and
pretend play.
Food
Ideas
Make a round cake look like a pokemon ball by icing one side
white, the other side red and putting a piece of black licorice
down the middle. You can also do this with cupcakes. Another idea
is our
Pokemon Explosion Birthday Cake.
You can make egg shaped jigglers in clear and red Jell-o.
