information on the back.
Decoration Ideas

green paper and attach grass skirts around the edge of the table.
Mount posters and postcards of Hawaii on the wall. Hang flower
garlands and streamers in bright tropical colors. Tie balloons to
the tops of pineapples for a fun centerpiece or put one on each
side of the entrance.
Craft Ideas
Provide the kids with beads and silk flowers to make their own
leis. Decorate cheap frames with seashells and flowers.
Have the kids dress up in grass skirts and other Hawaiian items
and take their pictures so that they can put them in the frames
they decorate.
Game Ideas
Bobbing for Seashells
Fill a large plastic tub with water. Put Hawaiian themed floating
items in the tub such as flip flops, plastic fish, toy boats,
plastic seashells and anything else you can think of. Write
numbers on the items with a permanent marker. These numbers
correspond with a prize. Have party members try to get an item
with their teeth. If you have really young guests, let them use
their hands.
Hawaiian’s play a game called ulu maika. To play put a 2 foot post
in the ground. Gather up stones. The guests roll a stone on the
ground to get it as close to the post as they can. If you have
really young guests, you may want to use bouncy balls instead of
stones.
Play hot potato only with a coconut. Set up simple lawn games like
croquet and volleyball. Have a hula hoop contest and play limbo.
Food
Ideas
Cut up pineapples and apples to make pineapple, grape and apple
fruit kabobs. Make different kinds of fruit smoothies and add
little umbrellas. Put bananas on kabob sticks, dip them in melted
chocolate, roll it in nuts and freeze them in the freezer for a
fun snack. Offer Hawaiian sweet bread, macadamia nuts, and cookies
with coconuts.
