Flintstones Birthday Party Theme
Ages: 5 to 12
Invitation and Decoration Ideas:
Create an invite that has a picture of Fred on the front saying "Yabba
Dabba Doo!" Put the information for the party on the inside.
Another option is to create a card that looks like the face of the
Flintstone's pet dino. When you open the card it looks like you
are opening his mouth.
Decorate the party area with a cave man theme. Hang gray and black
streamers from the ceiling to make the area feel like a cave. Have
life size pictures of the characters from the Flintstones hanging
on the wall. Have a lot of fake plants in the party area.
Games and Activities:
Stoneage Dressup. Get orange, brown and black material. Cut
the edges so that they are jagged. As the kids arrive help them
dress up like the Flintstones by tying the material over one
shoulder.
Bone Cookies. Before the party make sugar cookies shaped
like bones. Provide the kids with frosting, small candies and
sprinkles to decorate the cookies.
Bowling. Fred Flintstone loves to bowl, so set up a couple
of homemade bowling alleys for the kids. You'll need 10 empty two
liter bottles for each one that you will set up. Wash the bottles
and take off the labels. Fill the bottles with colorful tissue
paper. Give the kids a small ball to use to try and knock them
over.
Car Driving. Decorate a few boxes to look like Fred
Flintstones car. Divide the group into two teams. Each team gets
and car and each player must go through a driving course. Put up
little cones for them to weave in and out of, use chalk to draw a
road on the driveway that they must follow make a stop sign etc.
Food Ideas:
Put candies in light yellow colored Easter Eggs and put them in a
bowl together. You could even draw spots on them with a permanent
marker to make them look like dinosaur eggs. Serve sticks and
stones (pretzel's and M&M's), Candy clubs (pretzel rods dipped in
chocolate or white almond bark and rolled in sprinkles), corn dogs
or small hot dogs.
