Blue's Clues Birthday Party Theme
Ages: 2 to 4
Invitation and Decorations Ideas:
Make invites that have a blue paw print on the front. On the
inside write something like "Blue would like to do something, can
you figure it out from the clues?" Then have a picture of a cake,
a party hat and a present all with a small blue paw print on them
and put something like, "Blue wants you to come to (child's name)
birthday!" Put blue paw prints on the ground leading to the party
area and on the door, so that the kids know where Blue would like
them to go. If you have and toys that are characters from Blue's
Clues use them to decorate throughout the party area. Make or
decorate the mailbox to look like Mailbox from the show. Put the
goodie bags inside it for the kids to find at the end of the
party.
Games and Activities:
Finding Clues to Games: As the children arrive give each of
them a notebook and large crayon. Explain that they need to find
clues to figure out what they would be doing first at the party.
Before the party you will want to tape a blue paw print on a CD,
chair and CD player. Help the kids find the clues and figure out
that you will be playing musical chairs. Play musical chairs.
After playing musical chairs tell them that they again need to
find out what Blue would like to do. Make sure there are blue paw
prints on a potato, a circle, and the oven (this may be a bit hard
for really young kids so help them out). When they figure it out
have the kids play Hot Potato.
Again tell the kids that they need to find out what Blue would
like to do. Put blue paw prints on a box of crayons, a piece of
paper and some markers. Give the kids coloring sheets (can be
printed from nickjr.com) and let them color.
Food Ideas:
Serve food in red buckets made to look like Pail with yellow
shovels. Serve anything you can think of that is blue: blue punch,
blue candies, blue popsicles etc. Make a sand pudding cake to be
served in Pail. To make the cake crush about 6 graham crackers and
mix them with a bit of sugar. Put this in the bottom of a clean
red bucket. Put a layer of vanilla pudding next, add a few gummy
candies. Then add a layer of crushed candy bars. Then another
layer of graham cracker crumbs, followed by pudding, gummy
candies, crushed candy bars and so on until you fill the bucket.
Make sure the top layer is graham cracker crumbs so that it looks
like sand.
