Chocolate Sheet Cake
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup margarine
1 cup water
2 eggs, unbeaten
1/3 cup buttermilk (or sour milk)
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Topping:
1/3 cup cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 stick margarine
2 2/3 cup powdered sugar
1 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Put flour and sugar into a large bowl and set aside.
2. Put cocoa, margarine and water in saucepan and boil slightly.
Pour hot over flour and sugar and mix well.
3. Add eggs, buttermilk (or sour milk), soda and vanilla. Mix
well.
4. Bake in 10 x 15 inch greased jelly roll pan at 400 degrees for
20 minutes.
5. Five minutes before cake is done, bring the topping cocoa, milk
and margarine to a boil.
6. Add this mixture to the powdered sugar. Mix well. Add nuts and
vanilla and pour over cake as soon as it comes from oven.
